Koen Lybaert's Iron Mountain is inspired by a peak in California's San Gabriel Mountains, a summit seldom visited because it is so difficult to scale. Like a rock wall imbued with subtle tones, depths and highlights, the painting reflects the feeling of verticality and the challenge of the climb.

KOEN LYBAERT: NAPA VALLEY
Koen Lybaert's painting was inspired by the yellow-gold hues of California's Napa Valley, especially in late evening when the setting sun's golden light drenches the rolling hills and vineyards. Using just white and mustard acrylics, Lybaert slowly blends the colors with a squeegee to create an effect of emotion and fluidity.
