This stunning Sputnik chandelier was realized in Germany by Richard Essig, circa 1960. It features eight cylindrical chrome rods that emanate outwards at varying angles, attaching to a thicker stem of the same shape. The rods culminate in eight highly sculptural faceted molded glass spherical shades. Graphic, and full of verve and dynamic energy, this fixture embodies what discerning enthusiasts of first rate Mid-Century Modern design adore. With its clean lines and neutral palate, it would be a winning addition to any style of interior from Classic midcentury to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards.
