2 Acer palmatum trees in the scene.
Acer palmatum Atropurpureum is a well-known member of the Acer palmatum family. Because of its beautiful habit, this Japanese maple is regularly used as a solitary ornamental shrub in a low (evergreen) ground cover planting. Acer palmatumis known, or should we say: notorious, for its slow growth, which makes large specimens quite expensive. The final height of Acer palmatum Atropurpureum is approximately 4 meters. Acer palmatum Atropurpureum is best placed in a sheltered position in partial shade so that the dark leaves are protected from direct sunlight.
