The architecture of the future—that’s what he called it. Towering glass walls, concrete arches, geometry that tamed nature. But nature does not yield. The city drowned. People fled, but he stayed, convinced that the storm would never take his masterpiece. For three days, the tempest raged. On the fourth, the waters receded. The world stood still, buried under silt and ruin. But Felix never moved. He remained at his desk, his empty gaze locked on the cracked glass. Out there, in the depths, something stirred. The Keeper of the Abyss. A colossal form drifted through the sunken world. A whale—yet not quite a whale. Its eyes gleamed with ancient knowing. "Turn back…" Felix didn’t answer. Time took everything—his flesh, his mind, his name. Only his silhouette remained, tangled in cobwebs and ivy. They say on quiet nights, the house still breathes. The glass trembles, ever so slightly, at the distant echo of something vast passing by. But no one waits for his reply. When the flood comes, the wise retreat. The proud remain forever.
